As the industry continues to move towards all-IP networks, more bandwidth-efficient and cost-effective delivery is needed. The SMART Media Delivery Platform JPEG2000 is a four-channel auto-sense 3G/HD/SD-SDI-over-IP multifunction gateway with an integrated non-blocking Layer 2/3 switch. The Platform offers greater port density and use 1 or 10 Gig Ethernet trunks. Four user data Gig-E ports can be independently bridged (separate user defined VLAN’s) across 1 or 10 Gig Ethernet trunk ports.
The SMART Media Platform JPEG2000 transmits video, audio and ancillary data in accordance with Video Services Forum (TR-01:2013) Video-Over-IP standards, and features SMPTE 2022-1 Forward Error Correction (FEC) and SMPTE 2022-7 seamless protection switching. The platform offers VLAN tagging and bandwidth management capabilities.
Functionality of the platform may be added to or upgraded via software download. The flexibility of function capabilities in the SMART Platform allows for a seamless transition as the end user’s network evolves.
